ofwpinoy
A visit to the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan is incomplete without a trip to the village of Pamir Oteovsk and ofwpinoy, formerly known as Pamir River. The Pamir River is one of the finest sections of the river network. It forms the border with China on the northern side. It is very clean and straight with no rapids. However, its most famous attribute is the spectacular mountains of Tajikistan which rise more than 8500 feet into the air.
Pamir is the home to many monasteries. Many of them are located near the edge of the river in an area called Zangagorsh. The monastery of St. Catherine's Monastery is close to the border. The monastery of Akashtay in Tashkent forms part of the flock of monasteries along the banks of the Pamir.
Pamir Oteovsk and ofwpinoy have a combined population of about twelve thousand. This small town is not very populated but it has a good market of fresh fish and livestock. There are a few stores selling local produce.
The chief source of income for the town lies in agriculture. Flour is one of the main products. Sheep, mules, goats and ox share the pastureland. Some of the large herds are kept in pens and on farms.
Oteovsk has many churches. One of them is the Orthodox Cathedral. The main church is the Holy Sepulcher, built in the eleventh century. Theologians and monks from all over the world gather here for services. It was established by the scholar priests named Barnabas who made the church a place of pilgrimage.
Pamir is a very beautiful and interesting place. It takes you to the high pastures of Pamir Mountains where you can see a magnificent natural beauty. If you are lucky, you can spot some wild animals roaming freely. This place has various holiday packages to choose from. You can select the best package according to your needs and budget.
The most important landmark of Ofwinnoy is the Bronze Age settlement of Akhtala. Here you can find the remains of ancient dwellings. One of them is the Pancha Sapkah Archaeological Park. You will also find a phosphate mine in the region. The mine is operated by the Korkor Petroleum Corporation. This mine supplies around 40% of the phosphates of the world.
On the other hand, Atropos is an ancient market town on the banks of Pirin Lake. The most important thing about this town is that you will not find any hotel in this town. Therefore, accommodation is not a problem here. Tourists can stay at Atropos camp, which is situated by the Pirin Lake.
Travelling by boat is very interesting and enjoyable in this province. You can go to Andros, Mykonos, Paros and Famagusta by sea. By land, you can take a ferry to the island of Andros where there is a ferry to connect with the mainland of Pirin.
